ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

WHAT is the Long Island Farm Experience? AKA: LIFE!

LIFE is a celebration of one-hundred years of rich, natural history right in our own backyard! Long Island is home to hundreds of farms and it's our goal to teach you all a little bit more about the importance of farming while having loads of fun!

WHEN is it?

The last 2 weeks in July! The Grand Opening is July 20th at 10am! Join us for a special Grand Opening Ceremony.

WHERE is it?

Waterdrinker North Fork: 4560 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901

WHO is it for?

The Long Island Farm Experience is offered to all of our neighbors in the greater Long Island community by Waterdrinker Family Farm.  The extra-special encounter is open to and appropriate for all ages (included with regular entrance fee to the Farm).

WHY are we doing this?

Our mission as farmers is to be stewards of the earth.  The next step is to help others to appreciate the beauties and pleasures mother nature has to offer to all of us… especially the wide-eyed-curious and impressionable children.  We pursue this through education, the “fun kind”!  Learning should never be a chore.  We call this “edu-tainment”.  When we can all grasp and realize the wonders of the earth, it increases our own value of our whole world.  Then in turn, we can appreciate life even more.  We celebrate our fellow farmers who do this every day of the year.

HOW does LIFE work?

The experience begins with a mini-stage show in our outdoor theatre.  Guests will learn all about farming and pollination and tulips and pollination than they ever wanted to know!  Then everyone boards the Waterdrinker Express to learn even more farm history and fun farm facts.  And then finally after all the merriment of laughter and music, participants can chill and get their hands dirty by planting some flowers to take home.  We will show you how.  Digging even boosts serotonin levels.  Leave happier!
